Are you traveling to Portugal and are looking for the best SIM-card for your trip? I did a lot of research before we crossed the
Hi there! We're Andrea and Jacob. We're a Swedish nomadic couple who live in our self-converted Sprinter van.
Jacob is the calm, steady one of us. He likes to think things through and not rush into things. When covid hit Jacob was working as a light technician at events. He decided to learn something new and started to study web development.
He’s now looking for a job he can do from the van.
For as long as I can remember I’ve longed to explore new places and cultures.
I’ve come to realize that I’ve never really been happy with the 9-5 lifestyle, so a few years ago I decided that it was time for some changes. I quit my job and started a couple of webshops.
Today I’m coaching small businesses in social media, I’m also running online courses and webshops where I sell templates for social media.
As a small side business, I also work as a recipe creator where I create vegan recipes to help companies promote their products. If you’re interested, you can find some of the recipes here on our website.
Our travel history
Before we met, I (Andrea) traveled as much as I possibly could, there was a time when I made a trip almost every month. It’s kind of crazy when I think about it. Jacob on the other hand hadn’t travelled much at all, he was more of a stay-at-home kind of person.
We made our first trip together just a couple of months after we became a couple, an amazing trip to Marrakesh, Morocco.
Jacob fell in love with the city and the smells and the atmosphere and I enjoyed the whole experience just like I do every time I visit new places. I knew that I wanted to show Jacob all of the beautiful places around Europe, and of course, visit new places with him.
When covid hit I started to feel trapped, I felt like I needed a project to get my mind of the longing for travel. That’s when I stumbled upon vanlife. It was as if all of the pieces fell into place, I knew that’s what I wanted to do.
Our travel philosophy
When we travel, we like to experience things the way the locals do, finding those small corner restaurants where there are no tourists.
Whether we travel to a lake somewhere in northern Sweden or a busy city in southern Spain it’s important to us to always leave the place a little bit better than it was when we arrived. That can mean picking up trash others left behind, helping someone, or just making sure that someone have a little bit better day than they were before.
We also like to support small, local businesses, especially in times like these. We both run our own businesses and understand how important every single customer is, therefore we do our best to shop local.
By starting vanlife we’re hoping to be able to travel a bit slower and really take in the places we visit, get to know the locals and be part of a community.
We hope we’ll see you on the road!
New blog posts
We finally went south and are now doing vanlife in Spain. It’s hard to grasp that we’ve only been on the road for a bit
